Llama

Streamer
Tied By Christian Andrews
Hook: #6-12 extra long streamer
Thread: black
Tail: grizzly barbs
Rib: flat gold tinsel
Body: red floss
Wing: woodchuck (ground hog) guard hairs
Hackle: grizzly hen
Eyes: black dotted white enamel on black thread head
Notes:
using the recipes in The Founding Flies by Mike Valla and The Book of Fly Patterns by Eric Leise
Leiser says the size of the fly is determined by the length of available woodchuck guard hairs so that all four color sections are showing. Also he suggests it’s good to leave some underfur in the wing as it will help with movement.
