Ripple Ice Dub by Hareline is a versatile material that can be used as standard dubbing or in a dubbing loop. It can also be folded and stacked to form heads on smaller streamers. This dubbing features built-in flash, making it particularly suitable for nymphs, especially in Euro-style patterns. Its applications extend to saltwater flies and streamers as well. Ice Dub is easy to apply to the thread and comes in a wide range of colors, including UV options. It adds a natural-looking flash to flies, making it effective whenever dubbing is needed. When comparing Hareline Ice Dub to Hareline Ripple Ice Dub, the former consists of fine synthetic fibers combined with shredded mylar, offering a subtle sheen. In contrast, Ripple Ice Dub incorporates a crinkly flash fiber, resulting in longer, coarser strands that are better for dubbing loops and streamers. Ice Dub works well for various patterns, including Euro nymphs like the Frenchie and the Bead Head Psycho Prince, as well as streamers like the Sparkle Minnow and small Surf Candys. It can also be used to create shrimp patterns and for wings on Gotchas. The fibers measure between one and one-and-a-half inches long, and each pack contains a 3×4 inch bag full of material.
