« Back to Glossary Index

Hareline Ultra Chenille comes in three sizes Micro, Standard and Medium. It is a reliable and versatile chenille used in various fly patterns for both freshwater and saltwater fishing. It is known for its uniform texture, often described as velvety, and its durability. Available in a wide range of colors and sizes, this material is a staple for any fly tyer.

This chenille can be used to create bodies for popular patterns such as Woolly Buggers and San Juan Worms. It is also suitable for crafting crab claws for saltwater flies and forming shrimp bodies and streamers as well.

Additionally, it works well for Steelhead and Salmon patterns like the Comet, as well as stoneflies such as the Bitch Creek. The Squimp fly showcases its effectiveness in shrimp patterns.

Each pack of Hareline Ultra Chenille contains approximately 5 yards, presented on a 4 by 2.5-inch cardboard card. This high-quality, small-diameter chenille with a nylon core is dense, tough, and more uniform than standard chenille, making it ideal for a variety of tying applications.
