Notes:
Billy Trimble from Austin, Texas created the Blind Chicken with a cone head as it manages to get through the grass unlike the Clouser minnow. Where the barbell or bead chain eyes manage to get hung up swimming through the grass flats; by tying the deer hair and bucktail fibers by covering up the hook point helps this fly to be almost weedless. By adding the cone head also helps keeps if weedless as well. The color tied here follows the DOA or ZMan color pattern of the Electric Chicken which is a popular color pattern for some conventional fishing gear anglers. I would also suggest tying this fly with the black and purple which is another popular color pattern here in the Lowcountry. This fly should be roughly 2 to 3 times the hook shank. I feel that this fly could represent a shrimp or a bait fish pattern.
