A fly from Pattie Hayes of the Missouri Trout Fishermen’s Association – Springfield
Thread a brass or copper tungsten bead onto a #10 – 14 hook
Lay down a black thread base to the barb
Tie in a few golden pheasant hackle fibers for the tail; about hook shank length
Dub the body with natural brown; be sure to leave room for hackle and collar behind bead
Tie in golden pheasant hackle; three wraps should do it
Tie in gray filoplume to fill between hackle and bead
