Hook: Standard Dry Fly Hook, Size 18

Thread: 8/0 Black

Materials-

body: Chicones Fettuccine Foam – Black

hackle: Grizzly Hackle

Notes:

  1. Tie the fettuccine foam two eye lengths behind the eye. Tie back to the hook barb.
  2. Move thread toward the point where the thread was started.
  3. Tie in the hackle, wrap it twice and tie off the hackle. Remove the excess material.
  4. Remove the top portion of the hackle.
  5. Fold the foam over and secure the foam.
  6. Create head and whip finish.
  7. Trim the bottom hackle to the hook point length.
  8. Apply head cement to top of foam and head.
