Sound can sometimes scare the fish, especially when it shows up next to them unannounced. So therefore it can be an extremely effective addition to your fly arsenal, particularly when you must blind cast. The easiest way to add sound to flies is to incorporate a rattle into them.
This fly can be tied unweighted for shallow areas or can be tied with lead eyes for a faster sink rate.
