Materials: Semperfli Kapok Fluoro Purple, Speckled Moose Body Hair, McFlyon White, North Fork Hackle Dark Barred Ginger.
Notes:
The purple haze works well and a mayfly imitation and as a general attractor. I’ve read numerous different reasons that trout love the color purple, but who really knows. The important thing is, this fly gets bites!
The traditional recipe for the Purple Haze uses grizzly and brown hackle much like a Parachute Adams. Here dark barred ginger has been substituted. Cree is another popular choice.
