Materials-

tail: Chartreuse Marabou

body: Spirit River Estaz Grande, Purple

Notes:

Paul Noel’s Click-Clack is a great fly for specked sea trout and redfish. The construction of this fly gives it its name. A sharp strip will cause the brass beads to collide. On a slack line the nose falls down and the front bead makes another noise when it hits the eye of the hook. The click-clack attracts the fish similar to a popping cork using on conventional fishing gear. Another color option is a tail using yellow marabou with a black estas material.

Hints:

  1. Beads: 3/16 in (5mm) Brass Beads (2EA) – Be sure that the rear bead has the open end of the tapered hole facing the tail.
  2. Thread: 140 Denier, Black – Start the thread at the bend of the hook.
  3. Body: Spirit River Estaz Grande, Purple – Wrap the estaz and tie in at the point where there is a gap of a bead behind the beads.
