Step-by-Step Instructions:
1.Start the Thread:
•Secure the black thread at the hook bend and wrap smoothly toward the midpoint.
2.Add the Tail:
•Tie in a short bunch of golden pheasant tippets at the bend, ensuring they are evenly splayed and symmetrical.
3.Create the Body:
•Tie in charcoal silk or floss and wrap it forward in smooth, even turns to the hook eye.
•Overlay the body with blue ribbing by wrapping fine silver tinsel or braid in evenly spaced segments.
4.Tie the Hackle:
•At the midpoint of the hook, tie in sparse black hackle, winding it toward the hook eye.
•Add a metallic green hackle near the front, giving a subtle iridescent effect.
5.Attach the Wings:
•Pair teal and natural brown turkey feathers, aligning them for symmetry.
•Secure the wings on top of the hook shank, ensuring they lie flat and flow backward.
6.Finish the Head:
•Build a smooth, glossy black thread head.
•Add a small touch of red thread as an accent.
•Whip finish and apply a thin coat of head cement for durability.
