Notes:
Bill Edson from Maine tied this fly in 1929 using long shanked hooks. The Light Edson Tiger has a sister fly created by Bill and is known as the Dark Edson Tiger. Both of these flies have been on the cover of the 1978 edition of “Maine Fish and Wildlife Magazine”. The brass eyes used on either Tiger streamer was Edson’s innovation.
Note: Many tyers dress the pattern with Jungle Cock or a suitable substitute, however, the originator Bill Edson used small gold metal checks and eyes on this pattern. The Edson eyes are hard to locate but are available, however gold mylar sheeting can be used to fashion small gold checks if you desire to tie the Light Edson Tiger in Edson’s original style.
