Gilled buzzer / fulling mill buzzer
Buzzers
Tied By Ben Ashfield
Hook: Fulling mill fm50 95 comp heavy weight black
Thread: Sheer 14/0 in black
Materials-
gills: Goose biott
rib: Vernard micro glint in pearl
thorax: Thread and multiple layers of uv resin partially hardened and topped up using an under powerd uv touch
Notes:
Start by adding a base layer of thread.
Tie in your rib and whip down to where it exits level and equal with your vice leaving a mill or 2 gap from the bottom of your thread
Whip back to the top with touching turns and create and attach goose biots with the tips facing backward
whip an abdomen with the thread slightly tapering to the rear of the fly this needs to be larger than the biots are wide.
Twist your rib up and over the body of the fly and over the abdomen then whip in to the body and cover back to where you wish your gills to finish
Peel back gills and roughly whip in leaving a small gap between bunches of 2 or three whips to break them up
Whip finish and add multiple layers of uv resin to create the shape of the body
This fly looks rough and odd shapped by design and for some reason out fishes more technical or precise flys on my waters.
