Notes:
Here in South Carolina in the up state we have Hell Hole for trout and you might have a really hot hole that always produces fish. The fly that I will be tying is no exception for Maine where the fly fishers of Maine have the fabled Fox Hole in the upper West Branch Penobscot River above Chesuncook Lake is the finest landlocked salmon fishery primarily in the fall. Like Hell Hole the Fox Hole is very remote. The Fox Hole Special was created by Larry Dryer of Greenville, Maine back in the 1980s. It is considered an attractor pattern and could be considered a dressed-up Black Ghost Marabou. The Fox Hole Special is considered one of the top ten landlocked salmon streamers in Maine.
