| Hook | 20, 24, 26 scud emerger |
|---|---|
| Thread | black 8/0, or finer |
| Tail | grizzly hackle, or any other fine hackle |
| Body | tread of choice: black, green, brown in weight appropriate for hook size |
| Rib | same thread, spun clockwise |
| Collar | same hackle |
About this fly
Start thread to half of shank Tie hackle on top of shank with fibers pointing back to bend of hook laying the fivers down along the shank Lift hackle up and snap off at thread leaving a tail Spin thread clockwise to cord and rib wrap back to behind eye Tie in hackle shiny side up and create collar with two wraps or as desired. Tie off Whip finish or series of half hitches depending on hook size
