Tying Instructions

  1. Secure the hook in the vise and attach thread one eye length behind the eye with a jam wrap, creating an index point.
  2. Take four or five additional wraps reward using touching turns and tie in Peccary by the tip on the underside of the hook.
  3. Using touching turns, take thread about a third of the way down the bend of the hook, keeping the Peccary on the bottom of the hook shank.
  4. Return thread to the index point, building a slight taper to the body.
  5. Wrap Peccary forward to about the 60/40 point on the hook and tie it off, trimming the excess free.
  6. Fold a strand of Krystal flash in half four times and trim the ends off so you have 16 strands (I usually use two and fold three times), and tie them in with the excess facing rearward.
  7. Smooth over the tying point, creating a small Thorax, leaving room behind the eye of the hook to tie off the wingcase.
  8. Fold the Krystal Flash forward over the top of the thorax and tie off, creating a wing case.
  9. Trim away the excess flash, create a very small thread head and whip finish.
  10. Use thick resin to carefully cover the Krystal Flash and the head, creating a smooth transition between them, being careful to not cover the transition between the Peccary and wingcase, as shown in the picture.
