This was a recreation of a destroyed fly for Tim Kauk that he said was killer for panfish in his waters last year.
Since no one could identify it, I’ve named it Tim’s Panfish Slayer.
Both the tail and leg Biots are taken from the tip end of the feather so they’re longer and narrower.
Bead on hook, tie in tail curve out, tie in pearl tinsel on top of hook, tie in gold tinsel on bottom of hook, dub forward to about 60/40, tie in legs (curve in) taking one wrap of dubbing behind to lift the legs, dub to bead, pull flashback forward and tie in behind bead, rib carefully (not trapping the legs was a pain) counter wrapping the dubbing with the first turn underneath, tie off rib and whip finish.
