Tied By Christian Andrews
Hook: #8 fine wire
Thread: gray or black
Materials-
tail: deer hair
body hackle: ginger cock, wrapped aft at tail
body: yellow floss
front hackle: ginger cock
wings: mallard quill slips (or sub died dun turkey)
Notes:
An Art Winnie fly from the recipe and photo in The Founding Flies by Mike Valla
Also called the Fore & Aft since it has dry fly hackle wrapped both at the back and front of the fly
In the example fly, duck quill slips are subbed out with died dun turkey quill slips
It appears from the photo that the wings are tied in after and on top of the front hackle.
