Body Parts: tail, abdomen, underwing, wing, overbody, rib, overwing, front hackle
Materials: Natural selection cow elk from Natures Spirit, Olive and red Kimono Silk from Magpie Materials, Nature Gray CDC from Hends, Natural select cow elk from natures spirit, Bleached select cow elk from natures spirit, 72d black thread from magpie materials, Bleached select cow elk from natures spirit, Grizzly prograde from Whiting Farms
Notes:
I tied the tail in with white thread, then switched to olive silk and ensured a nice body shape. Then switched to red silk and tied in the hotspot. I then switched to the black thread and tied the over body elk in and used evenly spaced wraps backwards keeping the hair on the top half of the body. When I reached the tail I made a few tight wraps, whip finished it and then wrapped forward with the same even spacing. After that business as usual, tied the underwing in, the main wing and then added a small clump of bleached hair to help with sighting it on the water.
