Materials-

tail: stiff black hackle tips, flared, optional

rib: dark dun or black cock hackle, palmered

body: black dubbing or chenille

hackle: black cock / rooster as a collar

wings: Pheasant body tied on the sides with outside of feather toward the body as kickers

fished as a dry fly but, according to George Harvey, most effective on retrieve just below the surface
