This is an old pattern that is quite well known and often tied. The example here is tied strictly from the illustration in the Mary’s book and from the actual fly Mary tied for her book (on display at the Springfield, MO, branch of the Fly Fishing Museum). Consequently, the ingredients are best guesses even though recipes are elsewhere available.
