Materials-
wing: black hackle barbs
tail: black hackle barbs
body: black floss or fine black dubbing
hackle: black dry sized to hook
Notes:
a Ray Bergman fly according to the recipe in The Founding Flies by Mike Valla
Note: hook marks: behind eye is 100%, at beginning of bend is 0%
tie in thread at 80% mark
tie in wing barbs length of shank with tips over the eye at the 80% mark, lift wing tips and tie under to stand them up straight, wrap thread back to bend
tie in tail barbs length of shank
tie in and wrap black floss from bend to wing (or dubb a fine black body up to wing)
size and tie in a black dry fly hackle behind eye to behind wing, hackle wrap behind and in front of wing, tie in, tie off, clip extra
wrap thread head, whip finish, clip thread, head cement
