    Spey Hackle

    Spey hackle is a term usually referring to the long fiber hackle from a heron or its modern substitute blue eared pheasant. Heron was the original Spey hackle dating back to at least the 1800s and widely used to use on crustacean type patterns such as a Lady Caroline as well as other patterns used to fish the River Spey.
