Golden pheasant tippets are small to medium-sized, triangular feathers with natural stripes that are often used in fly tying. They can be used in a variety of ways, such as tails on Royal Coachman, Turk’s Tarantula, or Royal Trude patterns, or as under wings on Atlantic patterns. They are also commonly used in steelhead and Atlantic salmon patterns. Golden pheasant tippets can add bold coloration to patterns and are considered a staple for salmon and steelhead flies.
Golden pheasant tippets are available in natural or dyed colors, and can be purchased as full tippet skin sections or in size-sorted packets.
