Barr’s Meat Whistle
Bass Bug
Tied By Darrell Olson
Hook: 90 degree jig hook, Size 2
Thread: Brown 6/0
Materials-
bead: Medium Tungsten Copper Cone
rib: Brassie sized UTC Ultra Wire, Copper Brown
body: Copper Sparkle Braid
wing: Rusty Brown rabbit strip
legs: Pumpkin Barred Sili Legs (2)
flash: Copper Flashabou (Bunch)
collar: Brown Marabou
Notes:
Ensure that the legs are placed with two on each side of the hook shank. Length should be roughly 1/2 inch past the bend of the hook.
Lightly secure the flashabou on top of the hook. Try to spread the flashabou to cover around the shank of the hook. Cut the flashabou at the midpoint of the tail.
I like to tie in the marabou in by the tip and wrap the marabou like a hackle. Tie in by using a whip finish and cut the thread.
Add some head glue to super glue between the collar and the back of the conehead. Push the conehead to the adhesive. Restart the thread in front of the conehead to create a nose. Whip finish and apply head cement.
