Thread: black or to match body/hackle
Materials-
tail: hackle fibers (dark, salmon, olive)
body: dubbing (light, tan, olive)
legs: soft hackle (same as tail or to complement)
front hackle: same as tail

Match the colors to the freshwater shrimp or scud in the waters you fish
Tie on a hook size and shape to match the waters you fish
Tie in the tail hook shank length
Dub a tappered body; be sure not to crowd the eye
Invert the hook and tie in the legs behind the eye shorter than hook gape
Invert (revert?) the hook and tie in hackle fibers on top of the shank above the legs; clip butts and clip fibers at a slant back toward the beginning of the body
Thread wrap head; whip finish; head cement
