Notes:
Marc Petitjean second series of CDC fly patterns presented emergers. This is the fly to use when you notice trout eating on or near the surface. Odds are in your favor if you notice surface feeding but do not notice anything flying off of the surface of the water tie on an emerger pattern. This pattern just sits on the surface like a ice berg. Most of the insect is below the surface and is still trying to break through that surface of the water.
