Notes:

The F fly is the innovation by Marjan Fratnik; who is known for his simple and effective fly patterns. Of course the F fly is his most world renown. You could tie in a tail using micro fibbets, rooster fibers or something like that; you get the complete dry fly like so many others. In fact the original fly has its body in the water film and only the wing on the surface actually representing some kind of emerger and not an adult. It represents many kinds of insects and can really be put in the category of general imitating patterns. One can fish the F fly during the midge hatches, sedges or mayflies.
