Notes:
The Harris Special streamer is a popular northern New Hampshire streamer where it was first tied by Oliver G. Harris of Warner, NH in 1931. The story goes that this streamer was not widely used until the 1960s. I understand that the Harris Special is effective on ponds by dredging on the bottom with a sinking line by varying the retrieving the fly slowly, then using a jerky motion and lastly as fast as you can make the streamer move.
